Director of Children’s Ministries Job Description:
This position calls for organizational skills and a heart for children. It involves coordinating all dimensions of our children’s ministries, including: Sunday School, Nursery, VBS, and TAL, as noted below. The DCM will establish a warm rapport with the children of the church and with their parents. As noted below, working with adult volunteers will be an important part of the job. It should be understood that this position requires initiative and energetic outreach: we currently have very few involved children, and we need to reach out into our community, schools, and beyond. This calls for strategies and initiatives beyond maintaining the current status quo. The Director of Children’s Ministries reports to the Session through the Christian Education Committee, and directly to the head of staff.
- Coordinate volunteer teaching for Sunday School and Nursery for each Sunday Worship service.
- Recruit Volunteer teachers and aides.
- Train and motivate volunteers
- Work with teachers to select curriculum.
- Coordinate occasional other child care as requested.
- Oversee C.E. supplies and budget.
- Ensure (with the sexton) that all child care areas are appropriately cleaned and prepared.
- Coordinate annual summer VBS.
- Establish a personal rapport with the children of the church.
- Coordinate the Tuesday after school program, TAL.
- Share in children’s sermons in worship.
- Initiate outreach efforts and occasional invitational events.
- Initiate a Mom’s Day Out and/or evening out programs.
- Coordinate children’s bulleting and bags for worship.
- Meet with CE Committee regularly
- Participate in life of church

b. Occasional announcements, skits, music, etc.
- Possible holiday programs
Director of Youth Ministries Job Description:
The Director of Youth Ministries will work regularly with the youth of our church in building a vital team of Christian youth. With the youth, he/she will plan and execute regular weekly meetings (at least through the school year) and do numerous, fun, outside events. It will be paramount to this position to establish a warm rapport and friendship with the youth, while maintaining professional authority and behavior. It should be understood that this position requires initiative and energetic outreach: we currently have very few involved youth, and we need to reach out into our community, schools and beyond. The Director of Youth Ministries reports to the Session through the Christian Education Committee, and directly to the head of staff.
- Organize weekly youth group meeting
- Recruit, train and motivate adult volunteers
- Coordinate occasional invitational events:
a. Night of Joy
b. Talent Show
c. Car Wash
d. Ski Trip
e. Etc.
f. Plan and execute fund raisers for youth events
- Initiate outreach efforts
- Participate in life of church
a. Encourage attending worship

- Coordinate summer mission trip
